Background Story and Concept
Roger Raveel is one of the most important Belgian artists of the post-1945 period. His work is difficult to place within established art-historical movements. Raveel drew inspiration from his immediate surroundings, transforming everyday objects and scenes into images of universal significance through his paintings, drawings, objects and installations.
